I keep my little CPU usage viewer up all the time so I can see how loaded my computer is. Today, as was doing a whole lot of nothing, I noticed my CPU bars going full blast....with nothing intense going on.

I open up my activity monitor and there's an Process called sshd that's using all of my CPU. I close out of it, and 5 minutes later it's back up and doing the same thing...what's the dealio?

Your Mac's Specs
Way... way too many specs to list.
Go into system preferences, sharing and turn off remote login. See if that keeps it from coming back.
