Airport card in iMac

How do i tell wether my Airport card is compatible with the new n speed?

Also how do i tell what speed i am connected at to the wireless network?

I have an iMac late 2006 intel model.

It's not.

It's 802.11g which is 54mbs. Real time speed will depend on the router and the strength of the connection as well as physical obstructions.

Can i change it for a newer card and is it easy to do?

Google search for "iMac upgrades" result in zero for upgrading the airport card in your iMac. That's probably because the airport card is built into the motherboard. (soldered on the board)

There are many upgrades for the iMac, even one where you can replace the original core duo CPU with a newer Core 2 Duo!
