ok ill explain what i have going on right now so you can understand the question very well.
heres what i have:
-I have a mac book pro with a docking station
-a pc tower
-2 matching monitors that i have been using for dual monitors for the mac
I want to make it so i can use the monitors in 3 different ways
-dual monitors(mac)
-dual monitors(pc)
-(here comes the tricky part) 1 monitor MAC 1 monitor PC
so the first 2 can be accomplished with a Belkin switch. If you don't know what it is please Google it. (actually a nifty little piece of hardware)
now in order to get the 3rd way I think i might have a solution. but i am afraid to try it because it might just mirror the monitors when in dual monitor mode. (should work fine for just making 1 monitor for each machine)
I came up with a quick image to represent what i want to try:
So If you think this will work or dont think it will. let me know if you have any ideas of how to do this easier.
Id rather no software though. because i do NOT trust mac/pc compatability!
If this works ill be sooo happy
thanks for the help!
