Just bought a MBP and when I open iPhoto there are no controls there. Just a basic shell. I tried to register it but I can only get as far as Manufacturer Part No., in which there is none.

How do I activate iPhoto???? I want to import photos and see what it's all about.

Thanks,
Rich

The menu on the side isn't there? You don't have to activate it, it should just work, ahem. You also shouldn't have to register iPhoto, do you mean your MBP?

The menu is there, but nothing can be done with them.

For example, what do you do to import photo's??

On the left is: Events, Photos, New Events Last Import, Imports Last 12 months.

When I click on them there is nothing there. There must be somewhere to click to import or do other things??????????

nothing is in there because you haven't imported any photos.

To import photos, either drag them from Finder onto the iPhoto dock icon, or go to File>Import
