Syncing Address book with iPod

Hi guys
hope someone can help me here I have synced my Address and iCal with my iPod, from my iMac Ali using Leopard 10. 5.3 I then did a fresh install on my iMac wiping it completely clean I now what to sync my iPod with my mac to transfer my ical and address book back to my imac but i daren't click sync incase it sincs my ipod with my ipod deleting the address book can anyone offer any assistance on this

When you plug in your ipod and it mounts up, go into it and find the Calenders and Contacts folders - double click on whatever files are in those folders and it should import to iCal and Address Book.

It may be worth going into your iTunes preferences and checking the 'disable automatic syncing for iphones and ipods' box, just in case, before you plug it in, if you haven't already.
