Looking to buy 10 client leopard server package, but I only have a spare emac (1ghz, 1gb ram, 200gb hdd) to run it on right now. I will be purchasing another CD mini in a 4 months. So my questions are:

a) has anyone tried to run 10.5 server on an emac or powermac with the same specs? And how does it run.

b) Will I be able to migrate to the new machine in a few months with the same license?

Closer than you think.

I run 10.5.3 Server on a PowerMac G4 1.0ghz (originally a 400mhz now 1.0ghz sonnet upgrade) w/1.0GB RAM.

I would say that when the Mac was a 400mhz 10.4 server it ran better than the 10.5 server on a 1.0ghz machine now.

Since I don't really have to interface with it often, I don't mind at all. I mainly use it for storage, net images, backup, web and learning.

I'd have to say the eMac would run it fine.

Thanks for the reply. I had to give up the emac to a friend who's ibook has been acting up, so it looks like I'll have to wait to get the 2nd mini.
