Tranfer photos

Hello again I am trying to import photos off of an iMac to my MacBook. I know how to share, burn etc. My problem is the photos were uploaded from my son's camera and they are way too big. However, I can't find a way to re-save them so they take up less space and will, therefore, transfer.

Any suggestions out there?

You could just connect the two computers via Ethernet and just drag the photos over. No need to sacrifice quality to move some files.
