I'm new to the Mac world, and I just got my wonderful 24-inch iMac. But I have MS, and I can hardly see the Mac cursor? How can I get a large black cursor? Thanks (and sorry, I know this is really elementary!)

Zeke,

Enlarging your cursor is pretty easy so, not to worry!

1) Open your System Preferences by clicking on the Apple (top left) and selecting "System Preferences...".
2) On the System row (fourth row down) there is an icon all of the way to the right called "Universal Access", click that.
3) In the window that opens up, click on the "Mouse & Trackpad" tab on the far right (it may just say "Mouse" since you aren't using a notebook).
4) On that page near the bottom is a slider that adjusts the size of the cursor.

I hope that I made it easy for you, good luck!

Big Mouse Cursor in OS 10.8

There is no Universal Access icon in my version of Mac OS 10.8.2 and the Accessibility icon doesn't have an option to change the mouse cursor size/appearance. Is there some other way to change the mouse cursor size? Maybe defaults.write?

It's there but not where you might think. Go to the Accessibility pane > Display and the second slider will let you change the cursor size.
