Free image editing programs??

Does any one know of any really good imaging programs that are free to download online?? I want something like photoshop but i dont want to pay 700 dollars for one copy,but ill take what i can get! let me know!!:D

If you're not using them already, you can do quite a bit with either iPhoto or Preview. Advanced image editing requires more powerful software - and that costs - but you're aware of that. :|

If you are a student you can get photoshop CS3 Extended for 300 bucks. If you happen to be in the state of WI at a state school you can get it for 180.

GIMP is a good application, with plenty of help available online. Please be aware that it requires X11 (which is on your install disk and pre-installed in Leopard)

i have osx 10.4.11 is there anything i can use with my version?

On your Tiger install disk you should find X11 which is required to run GIMP.
