Ibook

I'm planning on purchasing the Ibook but I have only seen pictures of it since there are no apple resellers around me that actually carry Apple products. Anyways I was wondering if the Apple Ibooks white shell is has shiny as the Emac or is more dull downed a bit? Because in some of the pictures I've seen the Ibook doesn't look like it's a glossy white like the Emac.

it's glossy. mine is already all scuffed up.

ya but the scuffs build character.

mine came with scuffs. The bottom of my iBook is all messed up and the top has a few scuff marks - it seems to scuff up very easy so... not much you can do - it adds character! and besides its not damaging anything really, as long as the book works!

What do you guys all mean by scuffed? Scratched?

Scuffs in the white plastic. The iBook outside case is glossy white plastic (like an iPod) while the "interior" where the keyboard and track pad are at is a dull white plastic.

Although the white plastic isn't as shiny as it used to be on the G3 iBooks....

Mine has some scratches as well, but you can only see them when you're looking from the right angle...

Have you looked at the virtual presentation of it on the apple website?

Also check the setups thread for pictures of the iBook is a normal environment...

did u guys get your iBooks with the scuffs already on there? Mine had a ton on the bottom of the iBook and a few on the top and I was concerned if it was a return or something but the Apple Store assured me its NIB and that it was only opened to put in the RAM. They said all of them are like that and it comes from assembly overseas..... not sure????

Mine didn't, it was perfectly scratch free...

Must be a quality control issue with the ram installation... maybe someone slid your iBook around on the factory floor before putting in the ram *shudder*...

Do you mean the 3-D Quicktime presentation?

My iBook came spotlessly cleans and of course without any scratches.

And after using it extensively or one week it is still in mint condition.

There are some products like 'Ice Creame' , in the market to take care of small scratches (not so deep).
