For what it's worth:

Mac OS Rumors is reporting that the Canada iTunes store is in place and ready; opening is dependant upon final license agreements that may delay opening until 1 Jan 05.
Also there are reports that there will be new G5 eMacs in January.

i highly doubt the G5 eMacs

iMac G5's have been out for less than 1/2 year they will want to give them as much time as possible to sell them as the consumer G5's before they bring in eMac G5's as the lowend consumer G5

seriously, mac comps are expensive. for instance imac, cost SGD 2488 and the emac cost SGD 1488. so i think, apple WILL release a g5 emac, as so taht everyone can own a mac.

I think there will be a G5 eMac but apple is stupid if they release it so soon after the iMac G5. You want to give the G5 enough time to get sales so that when the eMac comes out the iMac already has a decent hold

yup, eventually there will be a G5 emac, but it would be an uneccessary move by apple to place itself in direct competition with itself.

Outside of the production/supply problems for the G5, it seems that the current eMac can be upgraded - speedbumped, faster busses etc - then release a G5 in the summer. That way they would catch the back-to-school market and not put a strain on current G5 production or sales. Besides, release a new model just as everyone starts dealing with taxes? Not the best marketing strategy.

On the other hand, the local dealer has put the eMac pivot base on sale. The manager said they were told to reduce stock before the new models are announced.

the eMac was created for the education market since there was not an affordable mac (<$1000 USD). as long as they can price a G5 eMac < $900, then they can do it.
