I set a folder on my iMac to be a shared folder, by ticking the box in the folder's Get Info interface. Permissions are set so that everyone can read, but not write.

But when I connect to the iMac as a Guest through the Finder window on my Macbook, I can only see the default Public and Drop Box folders (which I can connect to fine) but not the new folder that I just shared.

I checked in the system preferences/sharing that the folder is definitely shared, and the permissions are set correctly.

Any ideas?

p.s. I'm on a home wireless network.

I've come to realise that shared folders cannot be seen by Guest Accounts and hence cannot be seen through a Guest account logging in through the finder window. "Shared Folders" are only 'shared' with other users, NOT guests.
