We're looking into buying a thermal disc printer for our office so we can stop using those stick on disc labels that like to get stuck in disc drives. we just want a simple one that will print titles, but i can't seem to find one that has software compatible with a mac. does anyone know of one that works with os x? recommendations or ones to avoid?

Thanks!

why go thermal?

A Rimage Everest will work on a Mac;

But they're very expensive. An automated version (loading an unloading 50 discs will drive you insane) are even more expensive.

I'd go an inkjet solution. Any of the Bravo range would do the job well. Just choose a model that reflects how many discs you do.

If you want the thermal print look without forking out thousands, try any of the watershield media;

The discs look Thermally printed, are mostly water proof and the result looks great. They are kind of pricey though.

A good article on different printing technologies can be found at;

thanks for the info. we just ended up going with an inkjet. for the volume that we needed to produce it was the best quality print for our buck. we got an epson stylus photo r280. cheap (under $100) and prints well.
