17" eMac 1.42 GHz G4, Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger"
I recently had to buy a rare spare motherboard for a machine in my home and found one in America.

I live in the UK and our electricity system is different here, will it affect the board at all or does it not matter?

It shouldn't, because the power supply handles the AC to DC conversion, and that should already be of European specification.
