Importing Videos

Hello,
I just bought and am using a product called "Pinnacle TV for Mac HD stick." I am perfectly able to record and see my recordings. I am recording videos off my Xbox 360. After I'm done recording them I open imovie to import them. I go to Import HD movie project. After I get to that, a window pops open to select the file. I find the recorded file and it is faded grey. I have tried taking the disc out and closing the program then opening the file, but that doesn't work either. Any help on how to import my videos that I record? Or on what I am doing wrong.

whats the file type for your recorded clip?

how do i find out what filetype

it should say it. right click the file and click "Get Info". it should show what file type it is. Because I think the clip has to be a certain type in order for iMove to use it.

sure you can. If youre using a mighty mouse, you have to go to the Keyboard and Mouse Preferences and enable right click for "Secondary Click". if your using a trackpad, place two fingers on the pad then hit the click button.

what are the possilbe fie types?

its a folder should it be changed?

NTSC, PAL, and MPEG. I think AVI is another one.
