Emac Monitor trouble

Does any one know what is wrong?

Emac made a pop and then the screen went black. A thick red line(with other colors in it) is across the monitor in the center. The redline is jumping up and down. The red line looks like a old glass fuse.

Emac starts up with no probelms and seems to be running okay, but the monitor seems to be dead.

Is the monitor dead?
Has anyone replaced a monitor on a emac? Tough to do?

Any info would be great!

Go to this site: http://www.lbodnar.dsl.pipex.com/eMac/eMac-upgrade.html. At the bottom are links to Apple's service guides. They have a troubleshooting procedure and a tube replacement guide. Replacing a CRT can be done but it is a lot like changing the engine in a car; you might be better off just paying someone.

It can also be a dangerous procedure if one isn't experienced and very careful.
