I've got this old PowerMac G3 (Blue and White) and I'm trying to get it to boot from a CD. It doesn't respond to the C key and the Command+Option+Shift+Delete won't work either. I booted into OpenFirmware mode, but none of the commands will make it boot either. The error message or whatever says unrecognized. Can anyone help me with this?

G;day and welcome to the Forums.

What kind of a CD are you trying to boot from? Has to be made bootable for this to happen, such as an operating system, software disks etc.

It's an operating system disc, for Ubuntu. I can't do much else with it, so i figured I'd try it out.

Try and download a later version of Ubuntu. Maybe the CD has failed. Would the CD by chance for installation of a PC?

ok, i'll try getting a new cd or a newer version, but it's not platform-specific.
