I got the cnn twitter text yesterday. I just stared at it in disbelief. :(

In any case, goodbye Tim Russert. You were always good at asking those really tough questions.

So it goes.

This election won't be the same without Tim. Both my wife and I always enjoyed his commentary and reporting.

He was one of the greats, and among what seems to be the extinction of good quality journalists and journalism. It's hard to imagine "Meet the Press" without him as I have only watched it since has held the job, but it has been on since 1947 and I'm sure it will continue.

His passing seems too soon, but at least he left with his feet in his shoes and working strong as ever. I hope for the same.

I was so shocked when I turned on the TV and saw the headlines last night.

It's sad, but I would not consider him "One of the greats".

Well, I still think he was. The whole field of journalism is eroding away. I can't blame it all on the people reporting. PArt of it is the fact that we have multiple 24 news networks all jockeying to attract viewers. So we end up with the likes of Glen Beck, Chris Matthew, Nancy Grace, Anderson Cooper, etc. I really can't stand most so-called journalists these days.

I would not label any of them, even guys like Dan Rather, as great......

I believe he was one of the last true neutral journalists. I will be saddened not to hear his insights anymore. He brought clarity, honesty and integrity to his field.

Yes he was. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Russert twice while working as a news cameraman in Chicago. Politician's not on their game, feared him. But more importantly, he was a class act when the camera's were turned off.

Yeah, it sucks that he's gone. It's quite unbelievable, actually.
