Connect my MacBook to a monitor

I do alot of editing on my macbook but i would like to connect it to a monitor so i have a bigger screen to look at. What is the best cable to get?

Ive looked at the store but i am unsure. I was looking at the DVI connections.

It depends on what display you have

i would recommend you use the dvi connection if your monitor would support it

i hav the exact same querie. i want to connect a moniter to my little macbook. can ne 1 link the correct cable from the applestore to be able to do this? is it a DVI adaptor? im not sure exatcly and there seem to be a number of DVI cables.
