Just upgraded my eMac from 512 to 1gig memory and installed Leopard. My wife wants me to save a ton of her 78 rpm records to CDs. I have absolutely NO idea if that's possible and how to go about it. - Any hints or help of any kind will be appreciated. What do I need? Yes, I have a record player. And also yes my Mac has a DVD drive.
Don't even know where to place this question on this forum. Thanks

What you need for the recording:
1. A Griffin iMic - about A$80.
2. A turntable with a built-in amplifier (or a stereo with a line out port) and
3. a cable to connect the iMic to the stereo.
4. download Final Vinyl, which is free and also from Griffin.
Then it is just a case of letting rip - the eMac would manage it nicely. There are one or two settings to adjust. The bonus is that you can also do the same for cassette tapes through the device. In fact, anything analogue.
