playing .mkv video files on a mac?

can someone tell me how to play an .mkv file please? i can't seem to find a player for it... any help would be appreciated, thanks

You can download the VLC player here...

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Or you can add Perian to Quicktime...

http://perian.org/

I like VLC, it plays just about everything.
