Well I just turned on my MacBook.... the screen just went white and did nothing, so I turned it off and tryed again, but this time a flashing world came up and stayed up, so I turned off and tryed again, this time it did work but what does this flashing globe mean?

Also I just installed the new growl and this is the first time I rebooted, would this have anything to do with it?

The flashing globe icon is when it's searching a network for a bootable device.
Hold "option" while starting, then select your OS X folder.
If it won't work, boot while holding "shift". (safe mode)
Go to System Preferences>startup disk and select OS X from there.
