MacbBook Air Superdrive compatible with a normal MacBook?

As the title states really.

This may sound like a wild stab in the dark, but part of me wants to say that it isn't.

I remember something about it requiring more power from the USB which is how it runs without a power supply, and the macbooks not being able to do this.

Someone mentions it in a review here.

And check out the comments on here towards the bottom (after the outraged ones).


Which is a shame, I would have bought one.

Agreed with skaheadpunk. Everything I have read says it will not work with anything but the Air. Sad.

No worries. I was trying to find some class of article rather than random comments but there don't seem to be that many about that mention the compatibility.

The alternatives listed on that second link might be worth checking out, there are quite a few other products out there which should work with both the MacBook and MacBook Air.
