I have tried to put 2 different DVDs in my mbp drive, in both os x and windows (boot camp) and the drive spins for about 40 seconds, then ejects the DVD. It's so frustrating! I tried a music CD to test if it was just DVDs and it read it fine.
Is my optical drive broken?? :Shouting:

eskimoboi,

Sounds like 05GT was suggesting that you take your Mac to the Apple store. Seems like a lot of folks are having trouble with their drives.

If your Mac is still in warranty or you have Apple Care, call Apple tech support or just take it by your Apple store for checkout, repair or replacement.

Good luck, Noel
