spinning ball

not sure whats wrong with my macbook but every time i'm on a site that have alot of pic my laptop would freeze up and i get the spinning ball, bout a min or so it would stop so i would scroll down and right when i do that i get the spinning ball again, it would do that like 5 time for me just to scroll all the way down the page. the page would be loaded already so why is it doing that? my connection is super fast i have verizon FiOS, my laptop still have lots of memory and space left. anybody know what's wrong? or how can i check to see if everything is running right? thanks

I would start with the Basic OS X/Mac Troubleshooting guide and let us know if the problem persists once you're done.
