Well, I searched for problems relating to the one I had, but I found none, so I guess it's safe to post this. If not, then my bad
My problem occurred when I would click the iChat icon in my dock, with the blue light underneath it. But my buddy list didn't come up. the whole thing, not just my buddies. I couldn't do anything but open the app and quit it.
So, after fooling around with it for a while, I opened up the iChat Pref window, and went to the "Accounts" section. There it was, a small gray box next to my account screen name. I really don't know how it happened. So, I clicked the box, and when it was checked, right away, my buddy list popped up.
So, in case anyone runs into that same problem, here's the solution.
And if my problem was totally obvious, yeah...
