This one is a real mystery to me !!!
I accidently removed my DVD player icon from the dock, and now I have NO dvd player function. I have searched the apps folder, and done a general search of the hard drive, and NOTHING !

Anyone...... ??

Removing the icon from the dock should not delete the application What version of the OS are you running?

Down load Pacifist and get your 10.4 install media. Use the Pacifist application to re-install the DVD player application.

hey thanks,
I've downloaded Pacifist, but due to being clueless, don't know how to use it to get my 10.4 install media. Can you help with baby step instructions. Sorry!

You need to put your OS X disc in that came with your mac and start Pacifist.

Pacifist will allow you to install a bundled app (like the DVD Player) from your original disc without having to install the whole OS.
