new to mac...mail problem

hi,

I just picked up a G5 imac on ebay...had a two year old hp that the $700 dollar flat screen monitor just up and died...anyway we have been used to using outlook express where we had different folders that we created within the inbox ... now with apple mail I did the same thing but when I click on show mail boxes nothing comes up but if I click on " move to " all the mail boxes i created are right there....any help would be appreciated... this has the panther OS

If you are comfortable with Thunderbird why not ownload that for Mac?
