Transfering data from G4 to G5

I've upgraded to a newer G5 machine and was wondering whats the best way to transfer all my itunes , iphoto's etc across to my new machine.

Surely there is an easier way than burning everything to disc ?

I've heard maybe a cable to each machine ? any ideas would be appreciated.
