My daughter has been nagging me to get a paint type program for our i-mac. I finally gave in and downloaded one. However when I went to drag the application into finder, every single application opened over and over again, with multiple windows cascading on screen and the dock going berserk.

The only solution was to power down by manually turning off. When I turned back on everything was well. I could open the paint application but deleted it straight away in any case.

Anyone got any idea what happened?

nickyr,

Could be where you downloaded the app from... a virus, maybe? Since you were able to shut it down, you could try it a second time if you're willing and if it does that again, squash it.

Did you check to see if it was supported by 10.4?

Noels, why are you spreading nasty rumors? There are no viruses for Mac!

I know what happened as I have seen it before. Accidently all the apps were highlighted and when the paint program was dropped in the Apps folder all apps were launched. Seen is happen twice by accident.

IT"S NOT A VIRUS!
