Would I be limited to 3GB of RAM or will it accept 4GB?

Model Name: MacBook Pro 17"
Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,2
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP12.0061.B03
SMC Version: 1.5f10
Serial Number: W8629337THY
Sudden Motion Sensor:

Also, if you had to chose between this unit available for $1625 or a 2008 model 15" MBP with the following specs for $1750 which would you go for?

2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB of RAM
200GB Hard Drive
15.4" WideScreen
8X SuperDrive

Disregard that 15" it sold already... is the 17" a good deal at that price?

Thanks

I'd stay with the 17" model if you're not a heavy graphic user/gamer etc. The more screen real estate the better IMO. I wish I bought the 17".

For the first notebook, yes, you would be limited to 3 GB of RAM. The Core Duo processor is not 64-bit. The Core 2 Duo is.

I would pay the extra $125 and get the 2.4 GHz C2D 15". That can be upgraded to 4 GB, and most likely comes with the new LED backlit screens (The old 17" Core Duo would still be using the mercury tube). Not to mention it's a 64-bit processor and would make full use of Leopard's 64-bit capabilities. The FSB speed would also be 800 MHz instead of 667 MHz on the 15".
