Have you tried updating using Software Update?
System Preferences/Software Update

If that doesn't work, this is where I would start…
If you have repaired permissions and ran the maintenance scripts, and still have the problem(s), then try updating using the combined update. After the update, repair permissions.

Combo Updater.
Double-click on the .pkg file. It should automatically run the Installer and proceed with the installation. If it doesn't then that mean either you have a bad download or the file has lost its association with the Installer.
If this is the case simply select the .pkg file and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Open With section select Installer from the dropdown menu, then close the Get Info window. The .pkg file should now work properly.
Take Care
