• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

When I try to capture video using the isight camera on imovie, it always comes up that it can't find a device connected to the computer. If this is the case, how would I install the driver to make it work? Please Help! Thanks,
Victoria

Hmm. I see that 17 minutes after asking about it, you figured out how to use iMovie. Please go back to answer or edit your question the next time you find the answer. That way others (me) don't waste their time in a misdirected way. Anyway...

You shouldn't need drivers for OS X. It should work just fine.

Perhaps you have iChat open or some other application that is using the iSight. Maybe try shutting down the laptop and restarting.

Write down the exact error message and post it here with the version of iMovie you are using and the version of OS X you are using. If someone recognizes the error the version information may help them formalize a best in class response.
