Water damaged MBP

15" MBP Unibody 2.53Ghz 4GB RAM 250GB HD,VERIZON iPhone 4,SIG P238 ,iPad,6th Gen iPod NANO
I have a chance to pick up a MBP for next to nothing. It was water damaged (water spilled on the keyboard) the guy took it to Apple and Apple said it would cost $380 to fix.... I have no experience with water damage to computers but I have read several post on here where people have spilled water or some other liquid on there MBP.Is it basically a fried logic board? The owner could not give me any other information but this is one of the new MBP and If i could get it cheap and fix it,It would be a great deal.

Did the guy tried turning it out after the spill? Did he immediately remove the battery and disconnect MagSafe after the incident? If so, there's a chance that the MBP may still live.
