All I'm doing is surfing the internet, not even watching videos, and the fans are kicking on full blast. The MacBook was almost entirely silent a month ago wen I didn't do anything intense. I could surf the web for hours on end and the fans would be nearly silent.

It has plenty of room around it, and it's in an air conditioned room, but the fans keep getting loud. Should I be worried?

Woot! I found what it was.

I had a window running a flash app open still (didn't notice it behind the firefox window). I don't get why it was using enough of my cpu to make the fans kick on, but after I closed it they slowly quieted down.

if you ever have another problem, try SMC Fan Control. It is an application that lets you manually control the speed of the fans in your intel-based mac.
