I have been thinking about trying a mini mac desktop PC and want to know if I can just buy the box and use a PC monitor with it? is this possible or do MACs have a different type of connector?

thanks

2008 8-core mac pro. 4GB RAM 1.5TB storage. Dual LCDs (one IPS monitor for the colour).
VGA or Digital, there is no proprietary hardware when it comes to those things. Drivers to use the monitor's capabilities, however, like USB, screen rotation from the screen itself, etc. will all depend on what it supports.

All the Mini's I have worked with come with a DVI to VGA adapter in the box so it will work with any standard DVD or 15-Pin DSub VGA connector.

What’s in the Box
• Mac mini
• Apple Remote
• DVI to VGA adapter
• Power cord
• Install/restore DVDs
• Printed and electronic documentation
