I spotted this on digg today.

He makes some interesting points at the end about social media and its future. Using some of the technology he demos, it can significantly increase the interconnectivity of social media, particularly pictures.

This really makes me excited. The more data that can be meaningfully linked, the more the internet will be worth. Google Earth is a great example of this. Layering photos and information on top of a map is amazing. Begin integrating this technology into Google Earth and it would bring it to a whole new level.

I think I just got a bit too excited :D

This was posted a while ago, but it's still amazing to look at. I know what you mean about internet integration with things like Google Earth. I love traveling and learning about new places, so sometimes when I bored at my desk (or avoiding work) I'll open Google Earth and take a "quick trip" to China or South America to check out some interesting little places with pictures, wiki articles, etc.
