I plan on buying an IDE to USB converter so I can use my throwaround internal hard drives. Has anyone experience with these? My question is, how does one power up the drives when they are connected to the comp? Thanks a lot.

toy will still need a power cord in to the ids drive, you are better off with an external usb2 ATA enclosure

They should be quite cheap and will make the power connection easier
