I want to install bootcamp on my computer but my cd drive is stuffed so i cannot run windows from there.

I was wondering if there is a way to use a removable hard drive as a bootable disk so that all the windows data is read from there?

I don't think the hard drive will be recognized by the system when you reboot from OS X to the installation phase of installing Windows. I'm not even sure an external USB CD drive would work. I guess one way to find out is to give it a try and report back.

Why not just replace your CD drive? Go here for prices and step by step instructions on how to do it yourself.
