Hey,

since 2 weeks now i've got myself a brand new Mac Pro (8-cores).
I've installed windows XP pro with Bootcamp (works great)

but now the problem, when i'm using FL or Ableton or ....
and i check my CPU (ctrl+alt+del) i notice that only 1 or 2 cores are being used at almost 90%, the other 6 cores are like 0 to 5%.

The problem is that when i use only 7 VST's or something like that,
FL tells me my CPU is in the red (95-99%), which really isn't.

is this a problem because XP pro can't handle 8 cores?
or has this something to do with some presets i have to change in Bootcamp?

if anybody knows what the problem is, i would forever be thankfull.

The problem is probably more that your music production software can't handle more than 2 cores.

Apps need to be told to split processes up into separate threads that the OS can then hand to idle processors. But this is fairly complex and can be quite buggy unless done right, so that's probably why your apps are limited to two.
