As most of you know I purchased a refurbished mac mini two weeks ago and discovered today that instead of the 1 GB of RAM the order slip said it had, I have 2 GB of RAM. I didnt have to pay for it either apparently. Has anyone else had this happen? I have seen it at one other forum. Is this common? Just curious and thrilled.
It's like early christmas

If that were my job, i'd put in extra ram for some people just for the fun of it.
If your job was to stick the memory in the Macs, over and over again i'm sure it would get boring.

OH MAN, I'M GONNA LIVEN UP THIS PLACE BY STICKING 2 GIGS OF RAM INTO THIS THING! IT'S A PARTY NOW!
Or maybe they have robots for that.

That's cool though! Maybe I should bring my G4 into them and they'll "ACCIDENTLY" send me a Mac Pro back.

I can't remember the last time we got a refurb with the advertised RAM.

Most times recently its 2x1gb instead of 2x512mb.

wow some dude in macrumours mentioned that he got 2gig when he ordered only 512mb

I brought a powermac early last year and instead of 512mb of RAM I ended up getting 2GB!

No wonder Apple is overcharging everyone else who are upgrading their RAM's

Hey I'm fine with it;D I was thinking of upping it to 2 GB anyway. Which would mean pulling apart my mini. Which doesn't look remotely easy

It's easier that it looks. I took my Mom's apart and upgraded the harddrive and the RAM in about 10 minutes.

Really? Wow they must just make it look difficult. The whole using a spatula to pull apart my computer sounded like it could go very wrong very quickly.

I used a small putty knife. Just go slow and depress all the plastic fingers that hold it together. It was really pretty simple. Just be careful once you get inside. There are really tiny screws that hold the HDD in place and they are easily lost.

When I bought my first MBP, it was a refurb that was advertised as having 512MB of RAM. It arrived with 1GB, even though the packing slip said otherwise - it was also just one module, not two - which was pretty nice.

I had a MacBook arrive with 1GB instead of 512MB and the Mac Pro had 2GB instead of 1GB. The iMac arrived as advertised.
