Hi everyone.

I'm trying to change the the login message "Welcome to Darwin!" from the default. So i type pico /etc/motd, and opens a terminal session, and i change it. However, when i save it by pressing ctrl-x and 'Y' to save it, it will say 'Cannot open file for writing', and the old login name will still come out.

Can anyone help me out with this problem? How am i able to save it properly?

Thank you so much in advance.

unless you switch user (su) to root, youll have to sudo it. same thing, but this time:

sudo pico /etc/motd

just put in your password and do the same. you can even use ASCII art!
