how to install internal Memorex 20X

"MacBook 1.8GHZ Core Duo, 1.25 GB RAM, 120 GB HD". / "G4 1.2 GHZ, 512 MB RAM, 80GB HD"
I Have a new IDE 20X internal DVD drive with lightscribe on it. Will this be compatible with my Mac G3. Ive never installed an IDE device on a Mac and really dont know if will work. Can you explain or provide more info on internal drives for mac computers.

Gateway2000 P5-60. 66Mhz and 128 MB RAM.
You will be able to use your dvd writer assuming you have OS X. Preferably Tiger or higher. You will not be able to use the lightscribe feature as it is Windows proprietary. I though of getting one for my G3 until I found that out (way back when). Even though this is purely aesthetic you might want to make sure it will open when you push the button on the drive door flap.
