Software Update Problem

I have a problem regarding a software update on my mac book. when i go to update leopard to 10.5.2 it downloads fine and then when i go to install i get a message that says the package cannot be verified or validated. It has been doing this for a few months and i cant get it to install any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you using software update or downloading the patch from apple's website?
