Hi gang,

My brother told me about this map site called http://www.maps.live.com

One cool feature is the "bird's eye view." This gets your view a lot closer than the overhead satellite shot, as though you're riding in a helicopter. Looked up your house and all you see is the backyard? You can rotate the view so that you can see your front door. Really nice.

Interesting thing I discovered while sightseeing on here. I looked up our nation's capitol and wanted to see the White House. I noticed that the entire WH property has been intentionally pixellated, while the surrounding neighborhood is in hi-res. Most likely to discourage planning attacks directed at it.

Hmm, what else can I look up? How about some beachfront property? I'll have to inspect both coasts for prime locales for my bungalow. O:)

Almost forgot: I couldn't get this site to work on Safari. Worked for me on Firefox.

"3D view not supported by your browser" I'm assuming this is the feature you were talking about. I guess only IE was do it. :Angry-Tongue:

Where I live, MS's overhead pics are newer than Google's, but their pics look kind of weird to me.
