Hey, so I own a 2008 model Mac Pro (3.2GHz, HD2600 XT, 2GB [2x1GB] 800MHz). I'm an avid computer gamer, and run both OSX and Vista Home Basic on my Mac (using different drives)

However I also have 1GB [2x512MB] 667MHz of memory from a 2007 Mac Pro.

Which will I see better performance with? 2GB of 800MHz memory, or 3GB of memory running at 667MHz?

Cheers,
CJCS

The speed difference is almost negligible because higher speed memory has higher latencies, unless you buy the cream of the crop.

Definitely the 2GB at 800MHz than 3GB at 667MHz.

667MHz memory won't work in a 2008 Mac Pro.

Yes it does, I've tried it before and it recognizes the 3GB of ram. You just have to place it in the right slots.
