VMWare filling up hard drive!

I have a limited amount of storage space on my macbook pro. I had 20 gb of hard drive space before I booted xp via vmware. After 30 minutes, my hard drive is somehow filled up to the brim! What did vmware do? How can I prevent this from happening?
