I recently tried to erase my Hard Drive utilizing disk utilities on my Leopard Disc after I supposedly 'zeroed' out my hard drive, I noticed it left 3 folders on the drive. What am I doing wrong?

What method did you use to "zero" out your hard drive and what are the three folders that remain?

G'day Daimajin and welcome to the Forums.

If you booted from the Leopard install DVD and erased the drive by zeroing it should as clean as a baby's whatsit. Is that how you proceeded?
