i was wondering if there is a way to replace a .dv file with the same name that is more compressed into my imovie folder. i'm hoping that it is possible so i don't have to redo the editing in imovie and just swapout the original file. any thoughts/answers? thankyou!!!

Which version of iMovie?

You could export what you have done as a self contained H.264 file, bring it back in, and then apply cuts on the time line where needed. At least in iMHD.

If the file was a .mov file, then perhaps you could swap it with another one that is say an H.264 file.
