i have a 12GB file i need to transfer from a mac to my PC.

-I obviously cannot transfer via DVD as the file size is too large.
-I have a NTSC formatted external hard drive that i formatted for my PC but the Mac will only copy files up 4GB onto it so i can't use that.
-I could format a new hard drive for mac but then i've been told the pc wont read it.

Alternatively, if I bought a large enough flash pen drive to transfer the file would that work? or do they also have issues with maximum file transfer sizes like the external drive that I have at the moment does?

if not are there any other solutions?

thanks!

ok thanks - i'll propose the ethernet cable/ firewire option to the mac user. is it a pretty straight forward procedure? and no issues with restricted file sizes?

use .rar files split them into 4 gb chunks, and use unrarx on the mac, it will join the parts automatically

just a thought

Do it over your wirelesss network. It's just a drag and drop.

12GB over wireless would be extremely slow, even n speed would take a while. Wired GB ethernet would be the way to go.
